Autumn came upon many of us suddenly and heavily. Time to make yourself comfortable and cosy and listen to some good music.

Chile would not be the first place on earth where to look for indie music, would it? Be honest! And yet, Ricardo (Richi) Gómez (Vocals/Bass/Guitar) & Nicolás (Nek) Colombres have started bands and currently give us MAFF. They were joined on the way Martin Colombres (Guitar) and Gonzalo (Talo) Correa (Guitar/Bass/Vocals/Synths).

Note the plentiful guitars here? Indeed, MAFF do shoegaze, alternative, noise pop music and have been influenced by The Jesus & Mary Chain, The Pixies, Ride, Sonic Youth and My Bloody Valentine.

Santiago’s MAFF have just released their first EP “MAFF” which was met with enthusiastic response and deservedly so. For those among you, who like a mixture of shoegaze and grunge and like hypnotic, addictive music, MAFF is just your kind of thing.

Creation Records’ Joe Foster loves them and finds them to be excelling in the this style of non rock electric guitar music.

Their debut EP “MAFF” contains a number of songs for you discover and get lost in. For instance, there is “Walking On Fire” which also features the celebrated dream pop duo Ummagma.

Now out, a video for “Act 1” an instrumental introductory piece to the harder rest of MAFF’s songs. It was created by Pennsylvania filmmaker Tim Busko.

If you would like to hear more of MAFF’s music (I bet you would), here you go, an introduction to their EP “MAFF”.
